Halloween Table Runner

I don't know about you, but we're all getting geared up for Halloween over here!
I've been getting all my Halloween fabric out, and working on some cute new projects!
I completed this 'burlap' table runner last night, inspired by this one I saw on Eighteen25

I had planned to have mine hanging over the edges of the sideboard, however after painstakingly cutting out the haunted house design on freezer paper, I went to iron the paper to the fabric and the fabric started SHRINKING!
(note: this isn't actually burlap, just a burlapy looking fabric I found on clearance at Joann's)

So I ended up cutting off about 8 inches of fabric that had odd shrunken crinkly spots on it, and there went my overhang. Oh well, it still turned out cute! FYI, I ended up drawing the patterns on with a fabric pen, then painting them freehand with fabric paint. Sounds difficult, but actually MUCH easier than painting on a t-shirt. Very little stretch to burlapy type fabric!

Now to get my skulls, witches, haunted houses, and other Halloween decor set up!

Coolest Piggy Bank and Bug Fabric Ever!

I ran to Rod Works with Shellie today, and found the cutest stinking piggy bank EVER!

I mean really? Have you ever seen it's equal?

FYI.. they also had chickens...

Then I headed over to Thimbles and Threads because I received an email from them this morning about a great 4th of July sale (30% off every regular priced item!), as well as the new line they got in, Big Beautiful Bugs by Lonni Rossi.

I NORMALLY buy bug fabric for my 2 boys, and my sisters were all confused about me being excited enough about BUG fabric to hop in the car and run get some... so here it is, and now you understand the excitement!

And yes, I know our big Quilt Shop Hop is tomorrow, and yes we are starting at Thimbles and Threads... but I REALLY don't mind going two days in a row!

Abode finds!

I've recently discovered a local consignment store called Abode. It's the store where I found the cool old tin bread pan in this post.

I was in Abode's neighborhood today, so of course I had to stop and see!

Good thing I did, because I found some really cool stuff! Clockwise from the two flowered pots:
Pots = $2.50ea
Vintage tin = $8
Vintage Bed linens (fat quarters) = $2 - $2.50ea
Pill box = $8
Vintage butter slicer = $4.50

I've got to say I'm loving consignment/thrift stores lately! I'm finding so many cool things to decorate and organize with!

I REALLY need to find my hutch to refinish and get my sewing/craft room put together!

Happy Happy Happy….

I’m having a Shannon moment… but instead of loving FedEx, I’m loving the mailman.

Lookee what he brought me today:!

I now have enough to make my Abbey Lane Across the Universe pattern! (The one that awesome Shellie gave me for Christmas!)

I also have a charm pack. I’m thinking Stacie can still make me a purse too! He he he, ha ha ha…

Now if I can just get time to sit down and focus! To be continued…

I just found a way cool website selling Bandana's for cheap!

http://www.tansclub.com/

They have 100% cotton, double sided 22" bandana's in burgundy and olive! (and many other colors)

I'm thinking I may have to make a quilt to match my Blog page!

BOM's

I actually managed to sew today! I got caught up on the last three block of the months! Yeah! Only took all day... in between cleaning, laundry, running after kids, etc... but they're done!
