Camping, Spiral Jetty, and Brine Shrimp
We attempted our first camping trip of the summer this past weekend.
We loaded up and headed to the North end of The Great Salt Lake, knowing that we would run into few (if any) other people.
Dude had gone on an overnight motorcycle trip there the weekend before, and had a good time. He wanted to take us back to enjoy it also.
Well, in the week between his trip and the family trip, the mosquitoes and no-seeum's decided to hatch.
We were eaten alive the first night, then again the next day. (See the poor kids scratching their bug bites while trying to play on the beach?)
So we finally called it quits, packed up camp just after lunch and headed to the Spiral Jetty.
As we walked along the jetty, the kids noticed that brine shrimp had hatched and were swimming everywhere.
Once we returned home, the first request out of Douglas was for a Brine Shrimp quilt.
I laughed and said, "I don't think so....", but I did decide that little Brine Shrimp bags would be easy enough, and useful for carrying summer goodies around in.
So I cut out a couple of felt Brine Shrimp,
appliqued them onto some
'water', and used some groovy fabric
for the lining and handles.
The boys are thrilled with them.
Now, for the next camping trip...

So funny! Who in the world (besides you) would make Brine Shrimp bags. LOL! I bet your boys love 'em.
